What We Do
SoDEL Behavior Therapy provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children and adolescents who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
How We Do It
Through the use of functional behavior assessments (FBA), as well as various skills assessments, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) determines the amount and intensity of applied behavior analytic services necessary for each client. The BCBA evaluates the client’s performance on the skills assessment and identifies areas of strength vs areas that need improvement. The BCBA also reviews data from the FBA and hypothesizes a function for each maladaptive behavior. This information is then used to create an individualized therapy packet designed to match the specific needs of the client.
ABA therapy sessions are most often carried out by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Behavior Technician (BT) with the weekly oversight/supervision of a BCBA. The RBT/BT is responsible for implementing programs and behavior intervention plans, as well as collecting data. The BCBA is responsible for continuously assessing the client and managing programs/behavior reduction targets which includes analyzing data and creating, modifying, mastering targets as needed. The BCBA is also responsible for providing monthly caregiver training and completing treatment plans to submit to the client’s insurance provider.
ABA therapy is data driven, and uses only evidence-based methods for intervention.
